Dating back to 1898, the three-star Whitehall Hotel is a Georgian-style retreat nestled in Blackburn with Darwen. A converted manor house, it boasts an array of period features including a sandstone frontage, sweeping staircase, and an eye-catching chandelier. Guests can recline in the bar and lounge area as they look out across the courtyard, and peruse a Mediterranean-influenced menu for dinner. For weddings, guests enjoy the use of function rooms and four acres of landscaped gardens to get the most out of their big day.

Enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at the Whitehall Hotel with a friend. We were both impressed with the food. The waitress was very pleasant. We were offered more tea or coffee and a complimentary glass of prosecco.

Make sure they explain that there are no chair or table covers (up to £400) and DJ for evening entertainment is optional at £50 per hour. Even so this is still an exceptional deal

This was undoubtedly the worst Afternoon Tea I have ever had. I was really looking forward to this as my son was married there 6 years ago and the food was lovely and the photograph on the voucher showed a delicious looking Tea with China cups. However as soon as we arrived we noticed the cheap cups and saucers, the type I would expect in a Cafe. The "Fiz" we had to start tasted as cheap and nasty as Lambrusco. The ever so helpful waiter changed it when we complained to "Mulled Wine" which was so sweet it was impossible to drink. However we hoped the food would be better. No such luck. Dried out ever so small sandwiches and scones I would use as Door Stoppers. Nothing looked anywhere near as nice as the Photo and certainly didn't live up to our expectations. The mince pies were good but that was all.
