From Our Editors

The Isle of Axholme village of Haxey is home to the famed and ancient Haxey Hood, a centuries-old tradition which is still alive and well today. The Loco has been the winner of The Hood on several occasions, and is a central focus within the village. The old market town of Epworth is a short ten-minute drive away, which is quaint and sweet with a selection of cafes, restaurants and shops, while Doncaster is a 20-minute drive away with high street shops and attractions. Each room is cosy with modern comforts such as a TV, en suite facilities, tea and coffee and Wi-Fi In the restaurant, there are two different menus: one Italian and one international, with a wide range of dishes on offer, carefully prepared by the dedicated kitchen team In the cosy pub area, locals can often be found enjoying a cask ale in the comfy lounge agrea, or playing a game of pool at the billiards table The area is popular with walkers and cyclists, as the landscape is flat and rural with many public footpaths and bridleways
