From Our Editors

The Glass Pavilion is an art-deco style establishment built in the 1930s. Originally a bathing shelter, its has gone through various incarnations, including a spell as a garden centre, and today’s role as a restaurant. With spectacular views across the River Tay, where dolphins can sometimes been seen in the estuary, diners can revel in the sights whilst appreciating an eclectic menu from brunch to dinner.

Girls were very pleasant and attentive but food was poor and green tea was boiling hot, we asked if she could put a little cold water to it but she put ice in it and it was practically cold. By then we just wanted to leave. The whole experience was worsened by a couple sat two tables up having their dog with them (in a restaurant????) who managed to mess the floor and one of the girls had to mop it up, all whilst we were eating. Won’t be back.

Staff were friendly. However, was a bit chilly when people opened the door to restaurant, especially with it being a windy day.

Disappointing. Expected better. Had to send starter back. Main course disappointing. Very limited menu. No atmosphere. Will not go back.

Excellent service and lovely food. My voucher had expired by a day and they found a place for us on Friday evening.

Lovely helpful staff but the place was a bit chilly and @ 7.30 on a Saturday night, there were only 5 tables occupied (that included us) which didn’t give much of an atmosphere. We were the last to finish our meal so didn’t feel ok to stay for coffee as we could see cleaning mops in the background. My husband’s meal was lovely, mine ok - oddly, my halloumi kebabs weren’t on a skewer so unsure why described as kebabs and the creme fraiche and salsa described on the menu was missing. I didn’t mention it at the point of service (they always remove the menus and I couldn’t remember what was included) but did mention to a member of staff afterwards, he apologised.
