From Our Editors

Established in 1943, this Italian restaurant has underwent a transformation from a cafe to rustic-inspired eatery. With a wide array of main courses complete with a range of starters and a separate menu for the little ones, the team of chefs invite patrons for a dining experience inspired by Amalfi, a small coastal town that stands tall against a rocky hill in the region of Campania. Amalfi prides itself on having fed some of the most famous guests of the Glasgow Empire Theatre, including Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman.

The food is really not that good at all. The bruschetta i had was just a piece of tasteless white bread with a bit of tomato on it and some sort of cheese, definitely was not mozarella as stated. The pasta dishes that my husband and i had tasted exactly the same, the tomato sauce was really mass produced and had certainly come out of a tin/packet. Was reminiscent of Heinz tomato soup. They were supposed to be different dishes but they tasted the same. The chicken breast my husband had on top of his pasta was so thin and dry he struggled with that. No extras offered like parmesan cheese, chilli oil etc. as one would normally get in an italian restaurant. Sadly we would not recommend and will not be returning.

The place was busy which is a good sign. I went for the mussels for starter and then a pizza. The portions were large and both were delicious. The menu has alot of choice. Staff were lovely. Il be visiting again even without a voucher. Definately a visit is a must
