From Our Editors

The luxurious Montcalm London Marble Arch resides at the top of Park Lane, close to London attractions such as Oxford Street, Regent Street and Marylebone. Opulent décor graces the interior, and guests can expect a comfortable stay in one of over 150 bedrooms. Two gourmet restaurants will see to the needs of even the fussiest of eaters, and the establishment also features a Champagne bar, just for an added splash of decadence. Other facilities include a sauna, gym, steam room, jacuzzi, pool and spa, ensuring that there is something for everyone. One of the restaurants is Nirvana Kitchen where warm woods and pale leathers create a stylish, elegant interior. The use of authentic ingredients and the combination of the the Far East cuisine with the tastes deriving from India, results in simple but sophisticated dishes. The food is slow-cooked in an inka charcoal oven, giving the food an unique, smokey flavour.

Food is an eclectic mix of delicious-tasting sharing dishes which we both really enjoyed. Would have given it 5 stars except that our waiter poured some of our wine (in an ice bucket away from the table) to the couple on the adjacent table. When I pointed this out to him, he pulled a face acknowledging his mistake but did nothing to make amends. In the end we had to raise it with him again. At this point, he did get us 2 new glasses of wine but we should not have needed to ask him. Other than that it was a lovely evening

Food was really tasty, plenty of prosecco (not just the one glass stated on the voucher), service very good and best of all the only additional charge was for the water we ordered - no service charge on the original cost of the meal, as I'd expected. We left a decent tip, obviously, but it felt much better being able to decide for ourselves. Highly recommended

Food is here is tasty and of good quality but on Groupon this tasting menu is a sharing menu where the waiter/waitress brings out each dish/course to share between two people. This would be fine if the portion sizes were equivalent to that of two people but they are not. Neither am I a big eater but desserts are not included and myself and my husband felt the need to order a dessert each after our meal as we didn't feel what we had was enough. I would also like to point out that we both had a non-alcoholic equivalent drink instead of sharing a bottle of prosecco but none of the service staff offered us a top up whereas those with the prosecco had their glasses refilled regularly. Staff are mostly very attentive and friendly and ambience is lovely but I'm not sure you are getting as good a deal as you may think with this Groupon voucher.

We have been here before about 6 months ago and once again the food was to die for and along with the prosecco it's a fabulous deal. However, this time when we received the bill (we had the mochi dessert which includes 2 shots of saki for £8) there was an additional charge of £7 'weekend surcharge'. We weren't aware of this extra charge and so decided not to leave a tip. This is sad because we don't know if any of this actually went to the lovely waiting staff. This is why I've dropped 1 star.
