I have purchased two crowns. The dentist charged me £600 on top of my Groupon purchase for teeth preparation for the crowns, X-rays, gloss finish on the crowns which were fitted on the same day. Two hours later one of the crowns cracked broken. I returned a couple days later for a new crown. This crown wasn't given the gloss finish, just a spray and I was told that it is the same effect as the one I have paid extra £50 each for the baked finish. So if this was the case why was I charged extra £100? Usually when a dentist quotes for a crown fitting he gives the total price without adding any extras before starting the works. Despite the computer imagining to make the crown the crown was too big and so the dentist polished other teeth to make the crown fit giving me sensitivity to the teeth she has shaved off. I appreciate the charge for the x-ray but not for the tooth preparations. I was told prior to coming that since there wasn't a previous crown to be removed there would be no extra charge. So it was a shock to be faced with a bill when I got off the chair.
