The Maza Desi Eatery offers Indian and Pakistani food in East London. All the food they serve is Halal and although they do not serve any alcoholic drinks, customers are welcome to bring their own. Tables in their 90 seat restaurant can be booked online in advance and they offer a take-away as well as an eat in service. The Maza Desi Eatery serves a wide range of traditional Indian and Pakistani dishes including grills and spicy curries. Their mains include karahi daal gosht, a mutton and lentil curry, and chicken saag, a curry based on chicken and spinach. As well as a variety of meats they serve a large selection of vegetarian meals. The restaurant serves breads and common rice dishes such as pilau rice and egg-fried rice. A popular vegetarian main course is karahi saag aloo, a spicy dish comprised of spinach and potatoes as well as tinda masala, another popular curry. The traditional menu of the Maza Desi Eatery can be viewed online and also includes lassis, yogurt-based drinks originating for the Punjab region of India. Salted lassi is served with ground spices such as cumin while sweet lassis contain sugar or fruit instead of these spices. Offered are desserts such as kheer, a South Asian rice pudding, kulfi, a traditional Indian ice-cream and ghulab jamun, a cheese-based dessert similar to a dumpling. The whole restaurant can be hired for special occasions and parties.
