Ukai is a contemporary restaurant based in Portobello, London, which specialises in sushi. The restaurant started out in 2006, and has become popular amongst those that enjoy the unique taste and flavours of Japanese cuisine. The fully qualified chefs prepare each meal using the finest of ingredients, and fresh fish to create quality meals. For those that prefer to eat their meal in the comfort of their own home, Ukai offers a delivery service. Orders can be placed over the Internet or by telephone. The Ukai menu encompasses a wide choice of traditional Japanese meals, including sashimi, noodles, soups and desserts. They also offer 'Ukai specialties', which are meals that are suitable for 4 people. The tuna tartar special comprises of 4 servings of finely chopped fresh tuna in a lemon pepper and mirin dressing. This is accompanied with cucumber, chives and tobiko. The beverage menu includes sake, champagne, wine and cocktails. In addition, Ukai offers a unique catering service, which is suitable for special events, business functions and dinner parties. The range of dishes can be tailored to accommodate specific requirements. Ukai is open on Monday to Thursday from 12pm to 11pm, on Friday and Saturday from 12pm to 11:30pm, and on Sunday from 12pm to 10pm. Ukai offers delivery services to private homes and business offices throughout the day.
