Located near the Lace Market, Curious Tavern stands opposite The National Videogame Arcade. The dim inside welcomes guests with an eerie ambience, created by low lighting, wooden floors and decorative, dark ceiling tiles. The unsettling art of humanoid creatures with heads of wood-animals adds to the atmosphere, together with old-fashioned patterns and lamps appearing in the dining room. Customers can choose to sit at one of the wooden tables or in a dark leather booth to peruse the rich menu and have their meal. The kitchen serves a range of British classics like game pie, as well as seafood dishes including oysters, crab mac and cheese and Thermidor fondue platter. Selection of pizzas, sandwiches and salads are also available. Meals can be finished with a sweet treat or complemented by a choice of spirit, including wine, gin and mixed cocktails. Every Sunday, the tavern offers a Sunday roast dinner too.
Had a fabulous afternoon at Curious Tavern. The afternoon tea was one of the best I’ve had - delicious and plenty to eat! We had the cocktail option and I’m so glad we did as the pornstar martini (called What the butler saw) was amazing. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We really loved the decor of the tavern too - very quirky. Will be visiting again soon.
Quirky pub, good food and excellent service! Fantastic value. Would highly recommend!
Lovely place ... lovely pizzas ..🍕🍕.

Quick service good value pizza each plus a pint of amstell
Remember to order at the bar and not wait to be served
Visited this beautifully decorated restaurant/bar on a Monday late afternoon with my partner.
We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 ales, and 2 sides.
The food is irresistible. The pizza is stonebaked and the crust is crispy and light. I can’t normally finish a 12” pizza, but I delightfully cleaned my plate this time. The side mixed salad and the spiced fries are also very tasty.
The staff is friendly and accommodating.
My partner and I enjoyed the fact that the music aren’t blasting through our eardrums.
This place is quite mysterious and romantic to dine in.
Will definitely recommmend and visit again.
Slow service and menu limited.
Good pizzas. Nice restaurant. House wine not particularly good. Very quiet. Needs marketing and more awareness. Even taxi driver didn't know its location.
