An open-air site with an array of historic architecture on show, Avoncroft Museum spans seven centuries of Midlands life. The 19-acre location is home to over 30 reassembled buildings including a working windmill, a Medieval townhouse, a flat-pack corrugated iron church and the UK’s National Telephone Kiosk Collection. Visitors can browse the varied site to find Edwardian tea rooms, a cider orchard and gardens which feature a variety of wildlife and ponds. The museum also boasts a gift shop, picnic and play areas, and organises educational and themed events throughout the year.

We really enjoyed our day here. There's lots of space for kids to run free, open meadows, and wasn't at all busy. Quaint tea rooms/coffee shop took us back in time. Overall an interesting and pleasurable day out. Much nicer to teach the children a thing or two about history outdoors than in an indoor museum.

We had a groupon deal which cost us £10.00 for a family ticket. We took 2 adults and a 5 year old and 2 year old. We had a lovely day with a picnic but feel there could be a few more interactive things for children and extended play area. I feel it's more aimed at older children like 8 plus to understand some of the items on show. For adults it is interesting enough and the place is well kept and lovely gardens. We loved the windmill and the lady and young girl who gave us information around the log fire.

It's very interesting to see how they have developed this site with restoring old buildings from different parts of the country.
