The food (afternoon tea) was lovely. We enjoyed every item and the guy who served us (unfortunately don't know his name) was very attentive.

We were asked if we wanted tea, coffee or 'FRESH'orange juice. I really wanted the juice, and just to make sure, I asked the waitress if it was squeezed juice ( as I have been caught out like this before). When she came back she said that it was from concentrate. No one has drank this vile stuff since the seventies! The scone had the consistency of a rock cake, the other cakes tasted like very cheap shop bought cakes. We had a bite of each and left the rest. The sandwiches consisted of 2 egg mayo and 2 which had the thinnest piece of poor quality ham with slice of tomatoe stuck on the top. Even the mini sausage roll and quiche tasted as though they weren't home made, and when we bit into the quiche water gushed out of it, meaning that it had been frozen. To top it all off, there were no blinds up at the windows and it was like sitting in a greenhouse. Even though it was cold outside we were sweating uncomfortably and spent the entire meal with the sun in our eyes. I have had well over a dozen afternoon teas in the last 6 months but this ranks as the worst by far. We would never go back for any meal let alone an afternoon tea. It's such a shame because the cafe is in a nice location and the staff are very friendly.
