From Our Editors

A Tudor-style building with views across the Cheshire plains, The Wild Boar Hotel sits upon extensive grounds and well-groomed lawns. Originally built in the 19th century, the building has seen previous lives as a country home and boarding school, before being reinvented as a hotel and restaurant. The 38 personalised rooms provide a haven of relaxation, while guests can also retreat to the on-site spa for a pampering treat.

Hotel full of character. Felt cosy and welcoming. Afternoon tea was well organised, freshly prepared and very tasty. Topped it off with a sneaky prosecco - excellent. Highly recommended.

The afternoon tea was of really poor quality, cheap bread and shockingly sweet and sugary shop bought cakes that you wouldn't even expect to buy in Aldi.
