Bakewell Baking Festival
The annual Bakewell Baking Festival brings together a cornucopia of sweet treats across three dates this August. Surrounded by a vista of the Peak District, the whimsical garden party celebrates baking, music and summertime with a vintage theme. Expert bakers will be in attendance to provide demonstrations, and visitors can also get involved with a custard pie fight, cupcake decorating, tea tasting, chapati making and a cake decorating competition. Live music will evoke an ambience of bygone times, and children can also be kept entertained with a teddy bears’ picnic, face painting, hands-on baking activities and a play area. A vintage-style marketplace will also provide shopping opportunities, with everything from kitchen accessories to clothing available. Families opting to camp for the duration of the event can arrive on Friday evening for the Charity Summer Vintage Soiree, and all ticket holders can take advantage of VIP access to all areas.
