Lovers of the culinary arts can attend The Foodies Festival, held at Edinburgh's Inverleith Park. Celebrating fine food and drink, the festival hosts a variety of chefs all preparing food in the chef's theatre, while wine, beer and cocktails are available to sip in the drinks theatre. This year's festival features a new addition in the form of the chocolate, cake, bake and preserves theatre, which will see pastry chefs baking up a storm of sweet treats. VIP tickets earn holders priority entry to attractions, plus a complimentary glass of fizz, showguide, goody bag and use of the VIP area with a private bar and refreshments. Under 12s go free and there is plenty for little ones to do, as they get stuck in and sticky in the children's cookery theatre.

The centre of the festival will feature a feasting tent, kitted out with long banqueting tables where visitors can relax and enjoy tucking into their purchases. The vintage tea tent, another new addition to Foodies, will hold daily tea dances alongside a vintage kitchen market which will allow visitors to purchase items for their own kitchens at home. Hay bales and an acoustic guitar make up the real ale and cider farm, where occupants can chill out and enjoy a drink or two. For lovers of spice, there is a chilli food market, run by chilli growers who will be selling artisan sauces, sweets and jams. For those feeling daring, there is a chilli-eating competition held at 5pm each day.
