DAY 1 | WELCOME TO MEXICO!

Upon arrival in Cabo San Lucas, the ultimate seaside resort in Baja California Sur, you will pick up your hire car before setting off for La Paz, the capital of Baja California. This city offers a wide range of outdoor activities through which you can discover its extremely diverse wildlife. This cosmopolitan city, once occupied by the Americans, remains far removed from mass tourism and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. At the end of the day, stroll along the "Malecón", the promenade running alongside the bay, and enjoy the magnificent sunset.

DAY 2 - DISCOVER THE ISLAND OF ESPÍRITU SANTO

Why not treat yourself to a boat trip (not included in the price) to discover Isla Espíritu Santo today? This national park, which is protected by UNESCO, is home to one of the most diverse ecosystems in the region and is one of the most important in Mexico. Many species, particularly mammals and reptiles, can feed and reproduce there all year round. The island's most famous animal is the sea lion, and you can swim with them. There is a colony of 300 individuals in the north of the archipelago. There are plenty of ways to explore the main island, including snorkelling, kayaking, trekking and diving. You may even see giant rays, hammerhead sharks and turtles! The archipelago's isolation, volcanic origin and contrasting sea and desert landscapes create a unique spectacle not to be missed.

DAY 3 - VISIT THE FORMER CAPITAL OF BAJA CALIFORNIA

Today, you will travel to the former capital of Baja California Sur: Loreto. The evangelisation of the region's four indigenous ethnic groups (the Pericues, Monguis, Guaycuras and Cochimis) began here, with the establishment of several missions, including San Javier and Our Lady of Loreto. Loreto, dubbed the "magical village", faces the rich marine world of the Bahía de Loreto National Park, which is protected by CONANP and comprises the Coronado, Carmen, Danzante, Montserrat and Santa Catalina islands. From December to March, the world's largest mammal, the blue whale, comes here to feed, reproduce and give birth.

DAY 5 - THE OLDEST TOWN IN BAJA CALIFORNIA

Today, you will return to Loreto, the oldest town in Baja California. Take a look around the historic centre of this former Spanish colony, home to the Loreto Mission, the first Jesuit church to be built in the region in 1697. Salvatierra Square is not far away, and you can admire its period architecture there. Next, you will reach the "Malecón", where you can take an excursion out to sea to enjoy the many landscapes of Loreto, including the desert, mountains and sea. Nature lovers will be spoilt for choice with activities such as boating, kayaking and diving. DAY 6 - GREY WHALE WATCHING IN PUERTO SAN CARLOS

Today, after stopping in Loreto, you will travel to Puerto San Carlos, which is located on the Pacific coast of Baja California Sur. This small fishing port transforms into a tourist centre in winter, welcoming visitors eager to catch a glimpse of the famous grey whale. Puerto San Carlos is surrounded by around 240 kilometres of mangroves, beaches and coastline along the vast bay.

Nowadays, Todos Santos is a peaceful coastal oasis, which is probably why the town has attracted so many artists, both Mexican and foreign. You will visit the main square, the "Plaza de Armas", which is surrounded by the town's most iconic buildings. You will also have the opportunity to explore the many galleries and craft shops, where you can purchase a memento of Baja California. The town is also known for its "Hotel California", which was made famous by the Eagles' song of the same name. You will arrive in Cabo San Lucas at the end of the day. Adrenaline junkies can opt for a buggy excursion through the desert or try surfing on beaches exposed to the Pacific swell. Those who prefer relaxation can enjoy seaside spas or panoramic terraces where they can sip a margarita.

You may also wish to visit Cabo Pulmo National Park. Located about two hours' drive away, this protected site is home to one of the oldest and best-preserved coral reefs in North America. It is an ideal location for diving and observing marine biodiversity.
