Want to escape the hustle and bustle of Chelmsford City Centre? Welcome to Stewarts. 

We're a family owned and run business, that has been going within our family for 14 years. However, Stewarts is the oldest Tearoom in Chelmsford! Being family run means that we really put heart into everything we do. 

You can expect a warm welcome and a home-from-home here at Stewarts. We're not a polished high-end patisserie in London, but we're a compassionate business that is homemade to the core! We bake everything ourselves in house, using family recipes that we're sure you'll love. 

Unfortunately we are in a listed building on several floors and regret to inform our customers that we are not wheelchair accessible. Should you wish for a table on the ground floor (note that there are steps to get into the building, and toilets on another floor), please do request this and we will accommodate accordingly. 

What We Offer

Afternoon Tea for Two, or Four People:

• Miniature homemade scones. Either plain with clotted cream or jam or cheese and chutney with a chive butter. 
• Choose a slice of one of our cakes each, homemade and changing daily. 
• Choose a filling for a round each of sandwiches, made freshly per order. These are from a limited menu, but with vegetarian options available. 
• English Breakfast Tea or Americano coffee.
