This was a fabulous experience. We took our Spanish friends and they really enjoyed the time looking around this beautiful gardens. So much to see and enjoy. The owner was very welcoming and as they keep numbers are low it felt like we were in our own private garden. I cannot believe I had not heard of this place before having lived in the area for 40 years! (Note there are no refreshment facilities but if you get there early you can go to Wells afterwards)

Visitors can admire a combination of vistas accented with wildlife ponds, water features, sculptures and an extensive range of plants, including irises, roses, ferns and salvias. Guests can satisfy their appetites at The House offering a variety of food and drink options, including breakfast items, sandwiches, soups and casseroles, as well as picnics and afternoon tea. The gardens are beautiful and well worth a visit. The views across Wells and to Glastonbury Tor are great although you have to choose your spot carefully to get the cathedral in a photo without too may tree branches. Overall a lovely couple of hours spent wandering around. The catering and house weren't open on the day of our visit but we hadn't planned to use or visit them so no problem. Heartily recommended.

It was a dull, grey, damp day in June when we used our Groupon voucher to visit Stoberry Gardens and we were possibly the only visitors there at the time. The gardens are an absolute delight, so full of colour, even in areas where it is just greenery - who would imagine there were so many shades of green? The planting is so well thought out, the contrasts just pop, large and small, bright and dark.. Everywhere you look there are artworks and sculptures, some hiding away, some statement focal points, (don't forget to look on the walls) and plenty of places to sit and stare. Even though the weather was a long way from perfect, the bees were loving the flowers and in the area near the lake we were having to be careful not to tread on the tiny froglets. From the bottom of the garden there is a lovely view over Wells Cathedral and across to Glastonbury Tor. A small selection of plants from the gardens were for sale at a very reasonable price, compared to garden centres and I must mention the toilet - so bright and clean, even hand lotion was provided for use. We must make a point of going back in the autumn or springtime. All in all, a great place to visit.
