What is a dermal filler?

Dermal filler is a hyaluronic-acid-based gel that mimics the body’s own natural collagen. During aging, this collagen is lost which contributes to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal filler placed in the skin replaces the lost collagen and reduces the appearance of the wrinkles to create a fresher and more youthful look.

How does it work?

A soft-tissue filler is injected into the skin in a series of small injections, applied with a fine needle, across a 30- to 60-minute session. Most fillers are composed of proteins, hyaluronic acid or biosynthetic polymers, or a combination of these. Results usually vary depending on the type of skin and filler used.

What about the aftercare?

Patients will be given comprehensive verbal and written aftercare advice at the treatment.
