Novice tailors can become master seamstresses during a course at The London Sewing Room. Under the guidance of an expert fashion advisor, students will learn machine basics, sewing techniques and pattern cutting before putting their newfound skills into practise. Fashionistas will craft a simple dress from a bolt of flattering fabric brought in that day.

The London Sewing Room supplies courses, workshops and parties for would-be seamstresses. Topics include dressmaking, fabric designing and sewing machine tips, catering for all levels of abilities and experience.The school is located on Ridley Road in the heart of Hackney, near Dalston Junction station.

Booking: Required by phone. Present printed voucher on arrival. 24-hour cancellation policy.
Restrictions: Valid Mon 3pm-8pm; Thu, Sat-Sun 10am-4.30pm. Must be 18 or older. All equipment provided apart from the dress material- customers must bring along 3-4m (at least 140cm wide) of their chosen cotton light fabric (not see through) and matching thread. No stripes or geos. Bookings subject to availability (max 6 participants). Workshop suited to all levels of experience including beginners. Valid for dressmaking workshop only.
