Uber gives pedestrians the power to turn themselves into chauffeur-driven passengers at the touch of a button. With the app downloaded and the £15 redeemed, new users just have to press ‘Request Uber’, and a car-shaped icon will start moving in their direction on the map. The car will arrive along with a text to prompt passengers to come outside and locate their ride via the numberplate. Once journeys are complete, payments are made automatically, so passengers don’t need to part with any cash on arrival. The final cost is displayed shortly thereafter and passengers are encouraged to rate their driver to ensure impeccable service is maintained.
