Excellent experience. The volunteers were very knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The canal is very picturesque with lots to see and various wildlife about. We popped across the road afterwards to view the mill. Very nice day out

The barge is lovely and the canal is beautiful and clean the area is very green and it’s a relaxing 2 hours. Can go for a walk in the area and visit the small village and shops nearby.

Parking is on-site at the Wharf itself. Pay at meter or by phone. There is also a large paid overflow car park next door. Cost £3.20 for over 3 hours. Get there at least 20 minutes before departure time as you have to join the queue. There is an art gallery with free entry on-site. Picnic benches also on-site. Careful with small children as open area leading to canal so they could fall in. Please don't feed bread to ducks and geese as these are not good for them. Older peeps and those who are unsteady struggle to get down the steps into and out of the long boat. Not suitable for dogs you cannot carry in. Groupon peeps get a free drink onboard. Choice of coffee, tea, hot choc, squash. The crew onboard are lovely and very courteous. The journey takes 2 hours at a very leisurely almost walking pace. There is a stop off of 15 minutes at the end of the outbound trip. Lovely views of old station and old pump house and a dinosaur from a long gone age. Canal is flanked by the A6 and the train line though you'd never know as the woodland is dense. We cruised on 30 June when it was sunny warm and a breeze was blowing. Well recommended for adults as kids might well get bored.

Lovely painted canal barge and very well organised and looked after by the crew onboard - around 5 of them! Informative trip too, funny and pointed out wildlife in the water when he spotted some. Fabulous little trip and something different.

A pleasant afternoon canal trip. We chose the right day the sun was shining as we slowly made our way down the canal and back which made it all the more enjoyable. Staff very attentive and deserve all the praise. One negative - dogs are allowed - not good to someone who is allergic. Maybe a separate area could be used ie all digs at front or all at back instead of sit were you like.
