What is microdermabrasion?

It’s an advanced exfoliating technique in which the surface layer of dead skin cells is gently removed using a handheld device. The treatment aims to reduce the appearance of fine lines and generally encourage brighter complexions.

How about the Transderm treatment?

Also performed with a handheld device, this treatment uses a low-level current to help massage a mask of facial products into the skin.

What form do the sessions take?

Each appointment lasts around one hour depending on skin type, and they all feature elements such as cleansing, toning, moisturising and massage, alongside the specialist treatments.

What does aftercare involve?

Recipients of treatments involving microdermabrasion should wash their face using only cold or tepid water for around 24 hours, and avoid lotions and products with harsh ingredients. Their skin may look slightly red at first, but this fades over the following couple of days.

How can people prepare?

If receiving a treatment involving microdermabrasion, clients must avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and are advised to avoid the use of chemical creams, electrolysis, peeling cosmetics and waxing for five days before the treatment. If opting to have more than one treatment, the sessions must be taken at intervals of at least two weeks.
