Our practical animal holiday club is a drop-off only experience which lasts from 08:30 -16:30. Rangers (participants) will need to bring with them their own packed lunch and drinks. There are maximum 15 children participating on the day in each age group (4-11 and 11-18).
The summer holiday club is running from 25th July - 19th August, Monday - Friday.
What do Rangers do during holiday club?
During holiday club, the Rangers effectively run the centre! They ensure the animals are healthy in both the morning and evening, give food and water, provide enrichment and any medication, clean and of course, get to spend time with the animals too. Anything that the animals need that day, the Rangers are in charge of providing. We encourage independence, problem solving and decision making at all ages. We also love to play fun animal games during our breaks.
What's the difference between Junior and Senior Ranger activities?
Junior Rangers (4-11) work with their member of staff to complete husbandry tasks. They are able to choose from a variety of activities/animals to work with throughout the day. We love to play games such as Animal Bingo during our break times! We like to encourage our older Juniors with more responsibility to start to prepare them for transitioning to our Seniors.
Senior Rangers (11-18) have more responsibility. They are trusted with radios and work in small groups at their chosen task. Their member of staff circulates around the groups ensuring everyone is ok and working well.
