I was disappointed to read a previous review as our experience was great. Had many afternoon teas and the food here was so good. Lots of different cakes and all exceptional. We went later on in the day as we walked at rutland first, so was quiet. Ann was so friendly and attentive. The owner came in while we were there and had a great chat about farming in general and everything they are dealing with. The animals had just been fed so not as interested in us but still some friendly ones came over incase we had purchased food for them!! I liked this place. It is what it says, a farm who's diversified. Its a comfortable place to visit with great food. I would definitely go again

Afternoon tea and farm entrance, March visit: The farm is not what I would call a "working" farm, it looks more like a rescue centre. A previous review stated that the animals were in poor condition. This could be because the majority of them look old and therefore not looking their best. Good to see that these animals are taken care of at the end of their lives. Some of the goats' hooves, however, are in a bad shape and need trimming and disinfectant applied on a regular basis. The animals' housing needs upgrading and it is being done. New fencing around the majority of the pens has been erected. The tea room was a disappointment, it is in need of an upgrade: the chairs at our table were very dirty, probably due to the fact that children had been standing on them with muddy wellies. Staff should clean after every customer. Furthermore, I was concerned that the farm staff were entering the food preparation area in the tea room wearing their work clothes and dirty wellies, this should not happen as it is a health risk. The food was adequate although I would have preferred a full size scone rather than a mini one. The tea room staff was pleasant and welcoming. I cannot recommend this venue at this stage but hope that improvements can be made in the near future.
